As of now, I have finished creating a second draft for my cover, tables of contents, and article. While completing these drafts, I thought that the revisions I was making would be the last revisions I would make for my magazine. However, upon further consideration and research, I noticed a significant error with my page numbering, along with several other errors that were necessary to immediately fix.

TOC Changes

Change #1 (Changing Page numbers)

BEFORE AFTER

In my second draft, my feature article (which has always started on the left side of my magazine) was located on page 41, an odd number. I did this because I thought that it was acceptable to have odd-numbered pages on the left-hand side of my magazine. However, upon further research (see image below), I realized that this was unconventional; most magazines have ODD-numbered pages on the RIGHT-hand side and EVEN-numbered pages on the LEFT-hand side of their magazine. Therefore, I changed my article to start at page 42 (an even number) and adjusted this on the image of my cover. Now, my page numbering is more conventional since all of my even-numbered pages are on the LEFT-hand side of my magazine and vice versa.

Therefore, if my four-page article now starts at page 42, the last page of my article is now page 45, which was originally set as the page of my "Giveaway of the Month." Therefore, I changed its page to 46.

Change #2 (Changing footer)

BEFORE

AFTER

  • I decided that it was more conventional to add the issue date of my magazine alongside my magazine name.

  • I also changed the page number from page 1 to page 2 due to the reasons stated above (even numbers should be on the left-hand side).

Change #3 (Changing image captions)

BEFORE

AFTER

Thankfully, I caught a slight error in my images and coverlines. Originally, the image's caption was set at page 14, but as I was intending for the image to relate to the "Sweet Dreams" cover line, I accurately changed the image caption to page 19.

Cover Changes

Change #1 (Changing Page number of MAIN COVERLINE)

After changing my feature article's page number in my table of contents, it was imperative to change my cover.

Change #2 (Changing Page number of pug)

After I set the page number of my "Giveaway of the Month" (pug) to 46 in my table of contents, it was imperative to change my cover.

Article Changes

Change #1 (Changing wording of introduction)

I changed "we" to "author Shira Avidan" as only one person conducted the interview...me! It also acts as a more creative way to point out the author of the article rather than simply stating "by Shira Avidan."

Change #2 (Changing page numbers and footer)

BEFORE

AFTER

As I made the exact same changes in my table of contents, it was imperative to change in my article.

NOTE: My final magazine (with all of these changes) will be shared soon!
